Eglise Vivante was founded and officially established on July 6, 1992, under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit, with Ruth and David Ndaruhutse providing leadership. The decision to establish a base in the city for new followers of Jesus came after a series of powerful encounters with the Holy Spirit during prayer meetings and crusades across the nation.
The Ndaruhutse’s, along with a team of Student Leaders trained under African Revival Ministries, gathered at a location called Jabe in the city of Bujumbura to create a space where believers could freely come together to worship and celebrate Jesus without religious constraints. These gatherings, led by the Holy Spirit, quickly drew in a large number of people, with many individuals being moved by the Spirit without the need for persuasion.
The movement continued to grow, with Jesus marches and church gatherings expanding across the nation and leading to the establishment of new churches in the great lakes and beyond. In a short period of time, the company of believers had grown to hundreds, all ignited by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Today, this passionate community of believers has spread across the globe, carrying the fire of Jesus’ love into homes, streets, markets, and various other locations. They are dedicated to proclaiming, teaching, and demonstrating God’s Kingdom with the power of the Holy Spirit.
